Howard is the former Director of Communications for Colorado’s 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Prior to his time with the DAO, he served for 40 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO).

During those years his assignments included the Public Affairs Section (PIO), Special Victims Section, School Resource Officer Unit, Domestic Violence-DVERT, Intelligence, Narcotics, Field Training Officer, SWAT, and Patrol.
