Carbon Valley & Mead Victim Services Program

The Carbon Valley & Mead Victim Services Program will provide in-person support across four Colorado jurisdictions, offering crisis intervention, safety planning, victim rights education, referrals, case updates, and medical appointment accompaniment. It aims to foster partnerships, raise awareness, and reduce revictimization, particularly for domestic violence victims.

Long Beach Police Department

The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) seeks to implement an operational narcotics divisions or unit within its existing detective division, through hiring a new detective. The agency has not had a narcotics unit in approximately five years and hopes that instating a unit and hiring a new detective will further the agency’s efforts in addressing drug-related crimes.

North Carolina Youth Violence Prevention Center

The proposed CIVIPI initiative partners with North Carolina Youth Violence Prevention Center (NC-YVPC) to provide victim services, conflict de-escalation, youth diversion programs, and reentry support through construction job opportunities in Fairmont’s downtown revitalization. It emphasizes crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) and community violence intervention strategies.

Jacksonville Police Department

The Jacksonville Police Department plans to upgrade communication equipment and partner with Jacksonville State University researchers to gather community input and drive improvements. The BDI Project proposes murals featuring eye imagery to promote awareness, accountability, and crime reduction.

Passaic City

The Passaic City Comprehensive Gang Reduction Initiative uses evidence-based practices, community engagement, and partnerships to address gang violence and recidivism while promoting fair policing. Efforts include data analysis, targeted interventions, community outreach, CCTV surveillance, and transparent reporting.

Pembroke, NC

The CVIPI initiative aims to reduce violent crime in Pembroke, NC, through comprehensive prevention programs and enhanced victim services in partnership with North Carolina Youth Violence Prevention Center (NC-YVPC). Efforts include conflict de-escalation, youth engagement, diversion programs, and developing a crime/gang prevention strategy with NC-YVPC.

Pueblo of Isleta

The Pueblo of Isleta Prosecutors Office Crime Reduction Program aims to address rising arrests and understaffing issues leading to case dismissals. Efforts include blocking non-tribal cases from Tribal Court, removing non-tribal offenders, and hiring an assistant prosecutor to manage case surges.

Sauk County

Sauk County’s Targeted Resources Project aims to reduce violent crime by focusing prosecutorial resources on high-volume drug distribution cases. Plans include hiring a prosecutor, reallocating staff, early engagement in Drug Task Force cases, increasing police training, and expediting case filing timelines.

Natchitoches Community

As part of the Strategic Enforcement to Reduce Violence through Engaging the Natchitoches Community (“SERVE Natchitoches”) program, the Natchitoches Police Department plans to expand its resources and capacity to address crimes through strategically planned improvements in the areas of community engagement, partnerships, and technology. There are hopes that these initiatives will benefit the citizens of Natchitoches and promote a safer community overall.

Ellicottville and Salamanca Police Departments

This project unites the Ellicottville and Salamanca Police Departments to combat violent crime through prevention and enforcement. Efforts include community engagement, intelligence-led policing, officer training, skill development, and adding digital evidence processing technology.

Tuttle Police Department

The Tuttle Police Department plans to upgrade its records management system to Tyler Technologies’ Public Safety Pro RMS, enhancing data analysis, operations, and investigations. The project also includes creating a detective position for violent crimes, aiming to improve case handling, public safety, and crime reduction.

Five agencies

This project unites five agencies to combat violent crime using technology like FLOCK Cams and Star Chase GPS systems, along with training on cultural competency, bias awareness, and de-escalation. The goal is to improve real-time crime monitoring, strengthen community-police trust, and reduce overall crime rates.

City of Bloomfield

The primary goal of enhancing the city’s Real Time Crime Center is to continue to decrease the fast-rising rates of violent crimes, and to increase the amount of manpower, without needing more officers. The Real Time Crime Center will also aid in identifying trends and repeat offenders and assisting officers in the apprehension of suspects.

City of Brawley

The City of Brawley, California, is addressing a rise in juvenile violent crimes by establishing a Crime Prevention Coordinator role in partnership with San Diego State University. This initiative will enhance community engagement, youth outreach and data-driven crime prevention, aiming to reduce violent crime and improve public safety.

City of Buckeye

The City of Buckeye and the Buckeye Police Department have partnered to establish a Real-Time Intelligence Center. This initiative aims to leverage technology and specialized personnel to reduce crime and strengthen community trust.

City of Cleveland Heights

The City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is initiating a Violent Crime Reduction Program to partner with the Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance (CPA) in expanding its violence intervention efforts among youth. This collaboration aims to reduce youth violence by enhancing CPA’s community-based programs, which provide young people with social and economic resources, build trust in law enforcement, and prevent the escalation of violence.

Collinsville City Hall

This technology-focused project seeks to develop enhanced investigative capacity by adding fixed and mobile License Plate Readers, surveillance camera trailers and forensic cell phone software technology capacity to enhance investigative outcomes in violent crimes. The agency also partners with a university partner to provide dashboards that display crime analytics and partners with vendors to train investigators in the use of the new software.

Dillon Police Department

The City of Dillon, South Carolina, Police Department proposes to implement the Violent Crime Reduction Operation Program to decrease the number of murders, aggravated assaults, robberies, and forcible rapes throughout the City of Dillon. The program includes hot spot policing, problem-oriented policing, License Plate Readers and Gunshot Detection Devices.

City East Orange

The City of East Orange and East Orange Police Department plans to implement a prevention-focused community engagement program.

Faribault Police Department

The Faribault Police Department has purchased and is using technology, including a wireless digital camera system, crime mapping software, an LPR(License Plate Reader) system, 3D crime scene scanning, and a mobile alarm system to develop a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary enforcement and education team to reduce crime in Faribault. The police department, in coordination with community partners, is working to address violent crime, and in particular domestic violence, in identified hotspots using the new technology, with the goals of preventing crime, getting better outcomes for victims and lowering recidivism in Faribault.

Grand Coulee Police Department

The Grand Coulee Police Department proposes to implement the Capacity Improvement to Combat Violent Crime Program. The purpose is to develop a comprehensive, multi-faceted program to increase agency capacity in the critical elements of community engagement, training, analytics, and intelligence to reduce violent crime in the city and schools of Grand Coulee, Washington.

Greeley Police Department

The Greeley Police Department is integrating its various technologies and datasets, along with external camera networks, license plate readers, and databases to establish ongoing situational awareness and analytical products in support of the police department’s violent crime reduction strategies. These various technologies and databases will be linked and coordinated through real-time information platform.

Hammond Police Department

The Hammond Police Department has implemented ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology to enhance public safety and reduce gun violence. This strategy focuses on improving ballistic evidence recovery, expediting medical assistance, and strengthening regional law enforcement collaboration through data-driven, evidence-based practices.

City of Homestead

The City of Homestead, Florida, has launched a Violent Intervention Initiative to address the recent rise in gun violence crimes by analyzing data, implementing targeted responses, and expanding social services. The program includes officer overtime, hotspot analysis, and partnerships with community services to enhance safety and support.

La Marque Police Department

The La Marque Police Department has hired a crime analyst to collaborate with subject matter experts and department staff to address violence. This initiative seeks to enhance crime response capacity, strengthen community partnerships, and identify infrastructure gaps to improve public safety and reduce violent crime.

City of Lauderhill

The City of Lauderhill, Florida, has launched a comprehensive initiative to combat rising domestic violence, focusing on community engagement, awareness, prevention, and intervention. The program includes specialized training for law enforcement and Victims Advocate Specialists, as well as resources for advanced tools and overtime to strengthen evidence collection and case management.

City of New Port Richey

By way of enhancing its own forensic capabilities, the New Port Richey Police Department will acquire the latest forensic technologies to expedite its own internal processing of evidence. This newly acquired evidence can help the department solve more crimes and strengthen community partnerships by developing violence prevention plans with both government and nongovernment entities.

City of North Olmsted

The City of North Olmsted Department of Public Safety in Ohio aims to reduce violent crime by analyzing responses to service calls that require Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) principles, while also assessing CIT’s impact on officer mental health. This initiative will implement programs to enhance safety for both the community and officers, with a focus on preventing cycles of interpersonal violence early on.

City of Pueblo

Pueblo Police Department received funding to purchase ShotSpotter to enhance its ability to identify and prosecute individuals who perpetrate the most violent acts. The solution is part of their new Real Time Crime Center and is designed to identify, locate, and track active gunfire, supporting efforts to respond to and investigate gunfire incidents more effectively.

City of Utica

The Riverton, Wyoming Community Service Officer (CSO) program supports underserved populations, including those on the nearby Indian reservation, by connecting them with resources such as housing, healthcare, and job services. Through this assistance, the program aims to reduce exposure-related deaths, lessen substance abuse, prevent trespassing, and protect vulnerable individuals from crime.

Sevierville Police Department

The Sevierville Police Department is taking steps to enhance its forensic capabilities by acquiring advanced digital forensic technology to process mobile devices recovered during criminal investigations. This initiative is part of the department’s broader strategy to combat both violent crime and internet crimes against children, with a specific focus on improving investigative efficiency and outcomes in these critical areas.

City of Sikeston

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety has implemented ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology to enhance responses to gun violence. This strategy aims to improve public safety by increasing ballistic evidence recovery, reducing gun violence, and expediting medical response times for victims.

Stockbridge Police Department

The Stockbridge Police Department proposes to implement the SPD-Violent Crime Prevention Project. This project involved the purchase and installation of surveillance cameras for the creation of a Police Video Integration Center that enhances identification of suspects, and successful prosecutions and investigations of violent crime cases.

Clare County, Michigan, Prosecuting Attorney’s Office

Clare County, Michigan, Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has hired a crime analyst to assist with data collection and analysis in the county. The analyst is working to optimize internal operations within the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, develop effective strategies to prevent future crimes, detect and solve community problems, enact effective policies, improve safety and quality of life, and educate the public.

Forest County Sheriff’s Office

The Forest County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin is addressing rising violent crime by creating a new Violent Crime Prevention Officer role that will serve throughout Forest County. This position will lead school and community-based programs to enhance youth outreach, strengthen community engagement, and use data-driven strategies for effective prevention.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will implement a triad strategy to reduce crime, focusing on the establishment of a Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, increased community collaboration through programs like Neighborhood Watch and Project Knock-Knock, and the use of Risk Terrain Modeling. This approach unites criminal justice leaders, government officials, community members, and service providers to enhance safety and prevent crime.

Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Commission seeks to develop the Central Alabama Shared DNA Technology Project with the goal of adopting best practices of forensic science to solve and deter violent crime via a collaboration of District Attorney Offices and law enforcement agencies in Alabama’s 2nd, 5th, 15th and 19th Judicial Circuits. Project activities include: purchase of premier DNA technology tools; training for crime scene technicians, investigators and prosecutors; and development of protocols and procedures to apply DNA technology in fighting crime with the intent of increasing rates of suspect identifications, arrests, charges, trials and convictions; reductions in violent offenses perpetrated by those who elude justice; and heightened community awareness of improved criminal justice outcomes.

Taney County Sheriff’s Office

This program will allow the Taney County Sheriff’s Office to place up to eight stationary automated license plate readers in various locations around the county. Taney County has seen an increase in outlaw motorcycle gang activity in the area.

Dallas County Commission, Alabama

The Dallas County Commission is working on implementing the District Attorney’s Violent Crime Reduction Program to provide a comprehensive, coordinated strategy to combat violent crimes in Dallas County. The primary activities include hiring an investigator, creating a violent crime response team, law enforcement training, including cross-training between partners, and early case engagement with a goal of obtaining better prosecutorial outcomes and benefiting historically underserved, marginalized citizens of Selma/Dallas County impacted by the daily violent offenses occurring within the community.

Forrest County Sheriff Office

The Forrest County Sheriff Office (FCSO) currently has members on eight task forces, that are comprised of law enforcement officers from around the state. This grant will provide a separate radio console to enable these task force officers to communicate without overloading the main radio channel.

Oneida Police Department

Building upon the work that the Oneida Police Department accomplished through its FY21 VCR grant, the department now plans to establish a collaborative partnership with the social service providers who have put together mobile response teams. Through the creation of a new Community Liaison Officer position, the department will work with its partners in identifying those individuals who are in the greatest need of social service interventions, thereby reducing associated crime issues.

Oswego County Sheriff’s Office

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is using its grant funds to build out its digital forensic capabilities and aid other law enforcement agencies within the county. By using this technology, the investigators will be able to increase the number of locked digital mobile devices that can gain access to and process without having to send them out for prolonged processing times.

Calera Police Department

Calera Police Department is planning on using the grant funding to upgrade the technology available to department members, both in the police station and in police cars. Having access to upgraded technology in Calera will add greatly to both the protection of officers and citizens as well as bring CPD new tools that will keep up with the ever-evolving nature of law enforcement.

City of Edenton

The Edenton Police Department will position fifteen acoustic threat detection cameras/sensors within its high-crime sectors of the community. These devices are activated once the system detects any noise disturbance and directs the cameras to the source of that sound, providing the department with near real-time crime alerts.

Star City Police Department to implement

The Town of Star City Police Department to implement project Saratoga Sandman to strengthen community safety and protect the public from violent crime and evolving threats in the Town of Star City and surrounding communities. Project activities include: purchasing and complete patrol-use outfitting of four police vehicles (including outfitting one of the four as a K-9 vehicle) equipped with mobile license plate reader technology for targeted patrols in identified violent crime hotspots within the Town of Star City.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in New York proposes a Violent Crime Prevention Officer role to combat rising youth violence by strengthening school and community partnerships, particularly with youth and families. Using data from the Evalumetrics Youth Survey, the program will target key risk factors like neighborhood attachment, anti-social family behavior, and perceived drug use risks.

Crawford County Sheriff’s Office

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is in the process of procuring an advanced Mobile Command Center (MCC) to address the significant challenges faced by the CCSO due to the current outdated and unsafe MCC. The proposed MCC will serve as a crucial resource in the management of violent crimes scenes, enhancing officer safety, facilitating effective community response, and ensuring scene, officer and evidence security.

White County Sheriffs Office

The White County Sheriffs Office proposes to enact Project SAVIOR (Strategy Against Violence on the Rise) which is a comprehensive, multifaceted program designed to address the unprecedented rising levels of violent crime during recent years. The project includes stationary LPRs, cellular forensic tools, video analytics technology, a Citizen’s Police Academy, and advanced training for officers.

Utica Police Department

As part of its multi-year strategy, the Utica Police Department is enhancing its efforts to reduce gun violence by significantly expanding its technological and analytical capabilities. This includes the expanded use of Cellebrite technology, along with a notable increase in the number of certified Cellebrite and National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) specialists, and a collaborative partnership with the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center.
